The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Community and Health Sciences has a growing reputation as a leading educational provider for undergraduate and postgraduate professional Psychology programmes. The Faculty of Community and Health Sciences is seeking to permanently appoint an Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer within the Department of Psychology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:
• Teaching and learning at an undergraduate level and postgraduate level on Psychology Honours and Masters Clinical Psychology programmes.
• Research supervision of Psychology Honours and Masters level students.
• Research supervision of Doctoral level students.
• Clinical supervision of Masters level students.
• Psychometry supervision of Masters level students.
• Teaching Psychological Assessment and Neuropsychology at post-graduate level.
• Participation in research, curriculum development and staff development.
• Developing industry and academic partnerships.
• Engaging in community outreach.
• Responsible for administrative duties within the department, faculty and the university.
At the level of Associate Professor
• A PhD in Psychology.
• Current registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
• A current record of successful research supervision at Masters level.
• A current record of successful research supervision at Doctoral level.
• A current record of successful peer reviewed publications.
• Evidence of leading involvement in departmental and university committees.
• Evidence of involvement in community engagement and its integration into learning and teaching and/or research.At the level of Senior Lecturer
• A PhD in Psychology.
• Current registration with the HPCSA as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
• Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
• Postgraduate research supervision experience.
• A current record of successful peer reviewed publications.Added advantages
• The ideal candidate for this position should be a highly-motivated person possessing a PhD in Psychology.
• Experience in teaching Psychological Assessment and Neuropsychology at Honours and Masters level.
• Experience in psychometry supervision.
• Experience and interest in neuropsychology.
