      The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

      Job Summary

      Join Leonardo DRS in Melbourne, FL, as a Project Engineer and take a leading role in ensuring the successful execution of diverse development programs within Land Electronics. This highly visible position requires experience working with cross-functional teams and offers involvement across the entire organization.

      What You Will Do

      • Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a project or projects on time and budget.
      • Ensure design compliance with all project requirements.
      • Review customer specifications and requirements and lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable.
      • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
      • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required.
      • Participate heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals.
      • Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians, and support personnel to coordinate, recommend, and confer regarding technical activities and progress.
      • Lead project team(s) as assigned.
      • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
      • Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings.
      • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
      • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance as needed, which requires US Citizenship.
      • EVMS proficiency is highly desired.
      • MS Project experience is desired.
      • PMP Certification is a plus.

      U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
