      Position: Associate Project Manager

      Employment Type: Permanent

      Compensation Details :

      • Project Manager 15 : Salaries typically range from $63,894 to $85,194 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

      Location:

      • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
      • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, Laval, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, or Vancouver.
      • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

      Team Overview:

      • The position of Associate Project Manager will report to the Manager, Enterprise Project Management and will support initiatives within EDC’s transformation delivery portfolio.
      • The role of the Associate Project Manager is to help plan, execute, and finalize one or more cross-functional workstreams ranging in complexity which contribute to achieving the strategy of the enterprise. This includes supporting Sponsors and Initiative Owners in project planning, problem solving and building-out the governance for initiatives, planning for and acquiring resources (including subject matter experts, external consultants, vendors, etc.) and coordinating the efforts of team members and resources to deliver project outcomes according to plan and expectations.
      • To be successful in this role, the individual will need a blend of project management skills and technical understanding. The role will require collaboration with both the business and IT groups to ensure that the objectives and workstreams align with corporate strategy, risks are mitigated, defined outcomes are achieved, and benefits are realized.

      What you will be doing:

      • Project Management: Supporting the Initiative Owner(s) and Delivery Team(s) to prioritize and achieve project outcomes, communicate progress, manage and mitigate risk, log decisions and rationale, and foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Guide the delivery team and related stakeholders to achieve quarterly and annual outcomes. Coordinate cross-functional work and manage stakeholder interactions.
      • Stakeholder Management: Work closely with key stakeholders, including subject matter expert teams, IT groups and possibly external vendor/system integrators. Ensure overall project health, including risk management, invoice validation, timesheet processing, and steering committee preparation.
      • Resource Management: Planning and co-ordination with project resources, proactively manage project costs within Planview, provide forecasts, and present variances with narratives at review points.
      • Planning and Execution: Ability to develop detailed project plans, manage timelines and ensure project milestones are met. Ensuring activities are identified, organized, and resourced to meet project objectives. Comfort with both predictive and agile ways of working using different toolsets.
      • Risk Management: Identify, manage, assess, escalate and assist with mitigation of risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints. Develop and implement solutions as needed.
      • Communication: Consolidate and align information for key stakeholders, ensuring accurate and relevant updates.

      What we are looking for:

      • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in project management and/or project co-ordination within a project management office or related environment. Previous experience working with technology implementations would be an added advantage.
      • Education: Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
      • Skills: Strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, advanced written and verbal communication, and proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, AgilePlace, Mural, Planview Roadmaps, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams).
      • Knowledge: An understanding of both predictive and waterfall project delivery. Some knowledge of risk management frameworks, policies, and processes would be beneficial.
