- Req#: 888641
- Passenger and freight rolling stock;
- Project Engineering and mid level Management in Financial Evaluation and Execution Phases;
- Independent review and independent certification of rolling stock design, construction, testing and maintenance;
- Technical due diligence;
- Asset condition assessment;
- Asset valuation;
- Rolling stock and railway infrastructure interfaces; and
- Railway systems
- Deliver rolling stock engineering services that meet Advisian’s, its clients and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Initiate, manage and supervise engineering assignments on projects that meet project requirements of safety, quality, time and budget.
- Provide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline and project teams.
- Communicate effectively with the Railways Team, its clients, prospective clients and other project stakeholders and make presentations as required
- Establish and maintain good working relationships within Advisian, with its clients and other stakeholders.
- Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions and ask for assistance when required.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the rail industry.
- Work within multidisciplinary rail infrastructure teams in the development of urban, regional and resource rail projects.
- Managing the integration of rolling stock with other rail elements in both brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Engineering design calculations using industry leading software to adequately address the project requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – these will be clearly demonstrated in your CV and during the interview process
- A keen interest in business development.
- An ability and desire to work in and contribute to dynamic and creative teams
- Previous experience with rail software packages and the latest state of the art aspects.
- An ability to travel interstate and internationally.
- Able to make difficult decisions and lead and manage others in changing business environments.
- Able to work effectively in small to large, multi-disciplinary teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
- Effective management skills, including the ability to plan, set goals and manage time, priorities, resources, accountabilities, schedules and cost.

The Role:
We have an opportunity for an Associate Rolling Stock Engineer to join our Railways Group and become a key member of our growing Rail group. Reporting to our Managing Practice Consultant – Railways, this role will provide consulting and advisory services to our growing client base. This is a full-time role, based in our Melbourne office with the ability to transfer to a working from home role and interstate as necessary. The advertised position is ideally suited for a professional rail engineer with a high degree of creativity combined with technical excellence and desire to push their career to the next level.
