- Establishing relationships with researchers and representing Developmental Cell and Cell Press at scientific meetings and visits to research institutions
- Assessing submissions and overseeing the peer review and editorial process
- Recruiting exciting research studies and commissioning and manage a pipeline of high-quality reviews and editorial content
- Editing manuscripts for scientific message
- Supporting strategic direction of Developmental Cell
- Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives to shape the future of science communication
- Have a Ph.D. in any area related to developmental or cell biology, cancer or plant biology
- Be able to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Have an interest in engaging with the scientific community
- Have a talent for distilling complex concepts and communicating them
- Be able to work well in diverse team settings
- Have excellent time management and organizational skills

About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic scientist, to join the Developmental Cell editorial team. This is a unique opportunity to work with this broad scope journal and stay connected to a broad range of scientific topics.
You will help publish the best research in developmental, cell, cancer and plant biology. We are looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and research experience in any area of one or more of the topics published in Developmental Cell.
