      What You’ll Be Doing

      The Securitization & Structured Products Administration Group provides operational support for the Canadian Securitization Group of CIBC Capital Markets. SSPA currently employs approximately 20 staff across various functional groups that provide ongoing support for all aspects of our securitization programs.

      You will work under the direction of the senior members of the team, and in a dynamic and growing industry where demands are high, there will be ample opportunities for the applicant to learn and grow.

      This is a challenging position that requires the applicant to operate effectively under pressure. Due to the constantly changing business environment and complex nature of these products, the applicant must be flexible, adaptable, willing to learn, open to changes and be able to work independently at times with minimal supervision.

      How You’ll Succeed

      You will perform a key role in the Securitization & Structured Products Administration Group (“SSPA”). This team is responsible for a variety of key functions including:

      • Securitization - Review or assist in the setup of new securitization conduits/programs. Operationalize new securitization transactions, including documentation and structural review. Develop and / or review the setup of monthly portfolio reporting templates and settlement models for new securitization programs.

      • Prepare Reports - Ensure that portfolio reports and settlement models reflect the requirements of the program’s legal documentation. Prepare and / or review daily funding requirements, daily cash reconciliations, monthly program cash settlements, and portfolio monitoring of all securitization programs. Prepare and / or review monthly reporting to rating agencies, investors and internal management reporting.

      • Annual Review - Prepare and / or review annual credit risk reviews for each program, monitoring limits and ensuring exposures are within thresholds.

      • Relationship Building - Develop and maintain strong relationships with securitization clients and front office structuring team to ensure a clear understanding of the administration requirements and ensure timely and effective resolution of issues that may arise.

      • Collaboration - Liaise and work alongside all functional groups within SSPA and participate as an active member of the team. Participate in special projects from time to time, as required.

      Who You Are

      • You can demonstrate experience and / or a degree in Business/Economics / Finance/ Accounting. You have Understanding of Securitization; Understanding of loan products (mortgages, auto loans/leases, credit card debt, lines of credit); Understanding of interest rate derivatives.

      • You’re digitally savvy. You are Proficient with Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, Word and Teams.

      • You are a strong communicator. Service oriented with excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with various stakeholders.

      • You know that details matter. You have the proven ability to pay close attention to detail. Track record of meeting critical deadlines.

      • You act like an owner. You can think and act independently to resolve issues with minimal supervision. You can discern the need to escalate issues to senior team members. You have strong sense of ownership, ability to accept responsibility. You are organized, responsible, and dedicated Analytical/Systematic thinker; Service and results oriented.
