Assist the Senior Manager in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC), including monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Support the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and protocols to mitigate risks and protect museum assets.
Oversee the monitoring of security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems, to identify and respond to security incidents promptly.
Responsible for the effective operation and management of the museum's radio communication system.
Ensure all radio equipment is in working order, conduct regular checks, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Provide training to security personnel on the operation of radio equipment and communication procedures.
Collaborate with the Senior Manager to assess security needs and develop tailored security strategies that align with the museum's goals and objectives.
Help coordinate with internal departments, such as museum staff and management, to address security concerns and ensure compliance with security standards.
Assist in managing relationships with external partners, including law enforcement agencies and security vendors, to enhance security measures and intelligence sharing.
Participate in security assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures and identify areas for improvement.
Support the Senior Manager in managing a team of security personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, to maintain a high level of professionalism and competence.
Act as a liaison between the SOC and other museum departments to facilitate communication and collaboration on security-related matters.
Will assist the Senior Manager with the Travel Security Program.
Stay informed about emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to contribute to the continuous improvement of the museum's security posture.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of security reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders as needed.
Any duties as assigned by the Chief Security Officer, the Associate Chief Security Officer for Special Operations, Deputy Chief Security Officer, or the Senior Manager for the SOC.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience in security operations, preferably in a museum or similar cultural institution environment.
Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and support the Senior Manager in achieving departmental goals.
Strong knowledge of security best practices, standards, and regulations, particularly in the context of cultural institutions or museums.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and respond quickly and decisively to security incidents.
Knowledge of emergency response procedures and incident management protocols.
Ability to work well under pressure and under sometimes ambiguous circumstances.
Highly responsive and proactive, able to own tasks from start to finish.
Must be willing to work on a shift schedule (including weekends, holidays and non-business hours) and have flexible availability. This includes the ability to work an extended schedule during crisis periods.
Pay Rate $90,000.00 / Annually

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
As the Associate Security Manager for the Security Operations Center (SOC) you will assist the Senior Security Manager for the SOC in overseeing all aspects of security monitoring, incident response, and team management within the SOC. You will have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will need to be adaptable and able to make sound decisions under pressure and need to stay informed about emerging security technologies, including artificial intelligence, to contribute to the enhancement of the museum's security measures and demonstrate the ability to identify and extract actionable intelligence from the command central situational awareness software. This includes securely unifying real-time data and video streams into a cohesive operating picture.

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
