Develop critical functional skills in areas directly related to your role, such as software engineering, application development and more. Associates in the Tech Catalyst program learn technologies and Agile methodologies specific to the software engineering roles at The Hartford through immersive training. The multi-week learning experience builds skillsets needed to participate in the entire software development lifecycle process and to position you to grow with emerging technologies and processes. You’ll also have opportunities to network with other teammates, mentors, and leaders at The Hartford. This role is a hybrid position located in Hartford, CT. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

      Responsibilities

      • Participate in immersive instructor led and/or self-directed training relative to software engineering and The Hartford’s best practices
      • Partner with various parts of the organization to build a working knowledge of the organization, business, processes, and its customers
      • Perform data classification scans and work with application teams to validate the results.
      • Compare the most recent results with previous scans, identifying and validating the changes. Using these results, update data masking routines.
      • Coordinate and implement the development of an automated solution for the execution of data masking scripts.
      • Perform vendor software patches and upgrades.
      • Develop innovative solutions for unique data masking requirements.
      • Work with vendors, and Hartford teams, across geographic regions.
      • Work closely with on-shore and off-shore resources on data masking requests.
      • Report to the manager of data protection, providing regular updates on data security initiatives and challenges faced.
      • Understand and implement data security best practices.

      Qualifications

      • Undergraduates expecting to graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher
      • Desired majors include, but are not limited to BS degrees in: Computer Science or Management Information Systems
      • Provide evidence of previous knowledge in languages like CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Java, SQL, .NET or Python
      • Education and experience in the following:
        • Relational database structure
        • Basic SQL querying skills
      • Capstone or outside project work involving use of a relational database
      • Possess the technical, analytical and communication skills to solve problems, create technical solutions and tell the story about how your work enables the business to address our customer needs

      Compensation

      The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

      $60,880 - $91,320
