POSITION SUMMARY:u00A0
Medscape is seeking an experienced medical journalist to edit medical news for multipleu00A0specialty audiences. Reporting to an Executive Editor in a specific specialty, you will reviewu00A0specialty-specific journals and help identify potential studies for news coverage, edit news andu00A0feature articles, and network to build a solid roster of expert contacts/sources in a specificu00A0specialty and its various sub-specialties.u00A0The person in this position must demonstrate a high level of editing skills and a sophisticated
understanding of medicine and health reporting. Tasks include identifying information and events that warrant coverage; assigning and editingu00A0articles; working with freelance and staff writers; collaborating with other editors on the specialty
team and on the larger editorial team as needed.

The ideal candidate must be able to multitask, as well as work both independently (underu00A0minimal supervision) and collaborate in a team environment.
