      About the position:

      Relationship Manager for the leading Trade and Commodity Finance (“TCF”) bank in the world. Located in ING’s New York office, this role reports to the Head of ING TCF Americas.

      Responsibilities :

      • Assist deal principal(s) in the process of originating, structuring and executing of new commodity finance transactions across the full spectrum of commodities including energy, metals and softs borrowers.
      • Support the management and monitoring of an existing portfolio of lending exposures ranging from large, global commodity traders to small to mid-size regional merchants; monitoring and tracking credit performance, executing amendment requests, maintaining collateral files, etc.
      • Support the expansion of existing client relationships both in the core lending products (borrowing base, unsecured RCF, transactional lending and payment undertakings) and through “cross-buy” initiatives with Financial Markets, M&A, CS&A and DCM.
      • Identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
      • Collaborate with -and mentor- junior colleagues
      • Monitor market developments and trends, and identify new commercial opportunities.
      • Establish and maintain relationships with other banks active in the market.
      • Responsible for contributing to all stages of origination and execution of deal flow, including:
        • preparing and presenting transactions to the commercial approval platform
        • pitching new transactions to existing and prospective clients
        • structuring financing solutions for existing and prospective clients
        • commercial negotiations
        • learning and supporting the execution of the receivable discounting product (“payment undertaking”) and facilitate those transactions as it relates to a respective borrower/seller covered in your portfolio
        • credit analysis (including preparation of credit applications and annual/quarterly reviews)
        • building a rapport and positive dialogue with credit risk management
        • executing Admin/MLA function for lead deals
        • coordinating with all relevant internal and external stakeholders including cross-sell product teams and Syndications
        • legal documentation negotiation and execution process
        • coordinating of administrative and monitoring processes
      • Process amendment and waiver requests.
      • Ensure timely risk ratings and reviews of the existing credit portfolio.
      • Responsible for customer due diligence and compliance-related tasks.
      • Support Head of TCF in the implementation of TCF policy in relation to the markets in which TCF US operates.
      • Participate in ING’s in-house training curriculum as well as in external courses and seminars
      • Attend industry conferences and client meetings.

      Qualifications and Competencies

      • You hold a Bachelor's in business administration, finance or a related field. An advanced degree and/or CFA is a plus.
      • You have previously received credit training and have a solid understanding of debt products.
      • Minimum 3 years of banking industry experience required.
      • Trade & Commodity Finance experience preferred but not required.
      • Experience taking internal credit approval processes from start to finish
      • Excellent understanding of accounting statements & principles.
      • Experience working with a broad suite of banking products is preferred.
      • Working on all stages of deal execution including preparing pitchbook presentations, market reads, and commercial greenlight packages.
      • Experience in reviewing legal documentation preferred.
      • Should be familiar with risk factors such as the impact of bank regulation models on capital consumption, market fluctuations (FX, rates, commodity prices) and potential client solutions (hedges, bond and secondary markets, re-insurance, etc.) Understand multiple geography considerations such as market events, trends and industry evolution as part of the financial sponsor conversation and scope.
      • You have strong leadership, strategic, interpersonal, and communication skills.
      • You possess the ability to deliver with efficiency and effectiveness with minimal day-to-day oversight.
      • You possess strong communication skills – writing sample required.
      • You have strong credit skills – understand how to properly analyze risk.
      • You are highly detailed in your work.
      • You are self-motivated and willing to work in a deal oriented and deadline driven environment.
      • You are able to manage and prioritize competing demands.
      • You desire to work in a collaborative manner in contribution of team objectives.
      • You are willing to go above and beyond for the sake of the team and clients.
      • You have a consistent history of performing at the highest ends of review and appraisal metrics.

      Salary Range: $120,000 -$125,000
