The successful candidate will have an understanding of and interest in the intersection of land use & transportation, climate, and equity while having strong communication skills and an ability to engage with the community

      As the Associate Transportation Planner, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to support and lead on a range of projects and programs including but not limited to vehicle electrification, curbside management, shared e-micromobility (including managing a small bike lending library), long range planning, area studies, parking policy, transportation demand management (TDM), and capital project prioritization and planning. The Associate Transportation Planner will support regional transportation coordination as well as support compliance activities associated with new statewide transportation planning rules.       Education and Experience:
      Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
      • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in urban planning, community development, business or public administration, or a related field; AND
      • Three (3) years of responsible public agency planning experience.
      Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.

      Schedule: 40 hours per week. Work schedule includes a combination of office and off-site meetings (some evenings) There is an opportunity for remote work up to 50% of the time.
