Job Description
- Req#: ASSOC001329
- Underwriting commercial insurance risks: reviewing, analyzing, accepting, and declining risks to ensure profitability for Kinsale.
- Communicating with management on individual accounts, current and proposed producers, and recommendations concerning operations, systems, and procedures when appropriate.
- Underwriting and selecting new business that will produce an underwriting profit.
- Reviewing submissions to identify exposure/risk and determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
- Monitoring producers for profitability and production.
- Marketing products to producers by coordinating marketing plan with various stakeholders in and outside Underwriting
- Developing forms and coverages in partnership with others, as applicable.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- PC literacy, with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- A team-oriented, entrepreneurial spirit, seeking a flexible, spontaneous business environment.
- An expected graduation of May 2024 with a bachelor’s degree, especially in business, economics, risk management, or related field.
- Advanced Excel skills, including comfort with V-Lookup and PivotTable functions.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to maintain precision while moving quickly through workload.
