- Master’s Degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related field
- Minimum eight to fourteen years progressive management, leadership, or consultant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in business planning, CII or strategic planning with senior leaders and physicians.
- Demonstrated results in leading complex projects, facilitating teams, and driving decision-making leading to consensus.
- Demonstrated success in working with executive teams, providers, IT teams and vendors, consultants and other purchased services.
- Demonstrated successful experience working with executive teams, third party providers, governmental agencies, external vendors, consultants and other purchased services

- Fifteen years progressively responsible experience in healthcare strategy, business development or project management
- Experience in an academic medicine setting
- Experience in program or policy development.
- Experience working in a large, complex organization.
- Coaching and leadership experience in a health care setting
- Certification or proven experience in common lean roadmaps (RPIW or AIW, VSM, 3P)
- Extensive application of Toyota Production System (TPS) principles, lean content knowledge
- Two or more years of experience coaching leadership in lean methodologies
- Two or more years of experience with change management or organizational development themes
Responsibilities
The Operational Excellence & Transformation Director is a key leader in providing and adhering to the framework, systems and tools that are grounded in Lean methodology/Improvement science with the aim of supporting Seattle Children’s delivering on their mission and achieving annual goals and strategic imperatives. The Operational Excellence & Transformation Director partners with the SVP & Chief Operating Officer and The Sr. Director of Innovation and System support services to support the development, implementation and evaluation of enterprise-wide systems & programs which ensure the continuous improvement of operations, care and services delivered to patients and their families. The Operational Excellence & Transformation Director provides high level business planning, program management, project management, reporting and analytical support for key strategic initiatives and programs for the Enterprise. The Operational Excellence & Transformation Director works closely with the COO, Improvement & Innovation leadership, Clinical Operations Leadership Team (COLT), and system leaders to manage the design, development, implementation and monitor the sustainment of diverse highly complex programs, strategic initiatives and operational excellence intiatives.
The Operational Excellence and Transformation Director will lead through influence and work with key leaders across Seattle Children’s to achieve the Seattle Children’s vision and to drive strategies that will support the organization’s mission. They collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic initiatives and priorities. They will define tactics, projects and priorities needed to implement strategic objectives, and develop systems for tracking progress to goals and outcome measures based on CII principles. Key success factors will include defining success metrics, facilitating communications, and providing guidance, project direction, and leadership to ensure successful outcomes. They will also exercise their curiosity and creativity, distilling numerous inputs/ideas into meaningful actions and culturally relevant recommendations on what we should be doing next.

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Seattle Children’s offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
