Job Summary The AVP will play a pivotal role in working with third parties and leading coalition building efforts leveraging external partnerships to advance our company's interests. Job Description Core Responsibilities: Develop and manage issue-based campaigns to advance the company’s Federal, State and Local policy and political goals working in close coordination with Government Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Public Affairs, Corp Communications, Legal Regulatory, and Public Policy. Collaborate with external partners including industry associations, advocacy groups, and other third parties. Monitor and analyze relevant legislation, regulations, and policies, assessing their impact on the media and technology sector. Conduct periodic assessments of how changes in public policy or regulatory landscapes might impact the company's strategic direction or operations. Provide communications support for coalition/third party campaign strategies. Guide and manage campaign consultants, with a focus on developing narratives for key audiences. Engage with internal teams to identify rapid response opportunities/needs for fast-moving issues and opportunities across multiple audiences. Work with corporate communications to lead message testing on Public Affairs and Public Policy priorities. Work with polling and message testing firms to develop effective messaging on key issues as well as associated materials and content. Develop messaging materials for key stakeholders Talking points, messaging documents, leave behind materials for advocates, in coordination with key departments. Coordinate consultants and agencies to execute targeted media buys for issue campaigns (TV, Radio, Print, Digital). Professional Experience & Qualifications: Proven experience (10-15 years) in public affairs, third-party engagement, coalition building, or a related role within Washington DC. Deep understanding of the media and technology industry, including relevant policy and regulatory issues. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with third-party organizations and to build and lead successful coalitions. Experience with the political process at the local, state and federal level with elected officials and how to effectively reach those audiences. Knowledge of tech and telecom issues. Excellent writing skills with the ability to create persuasive advocacy materials. Is comfortable with and excels under pressure. An overall team player.
