- Manage and oversee the execution of project work and ensure timely and accurate submission of all deliverables, including proposals and reports.
- Provide supervision and mentoring on task management, and communications, engagement, and outreach techniques and tools.
- Lead and participate in client meetings, including agenda and slide development, meeting facilitation, note taking, and assigning action items.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and vendors, focusing on delivering high-quality service.
- Lead and manage cross-agency health IT projects aligned with ASTP’s strategic goals.
- Coordinate with HHS Operating and Staff Divisions to ensure consistent implementation of ONC-adopted standards.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and performance metrics.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation for auditing and evaluation purposes.
- Prepare and present progress updates, risk assessments, and final reports to ASTP leadership.
- Track and report on project progress using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Project.
- Support the implementation of the HHS Health IT Alignment Policy and related initiatives.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure interoperability and compliance with federal health IT standards (e.g., FHIR, USCDI).
- Bachelor's degree
- 9 years of relevant professional experience
- at least 5 years in project management
- Previous experience leading projects and teams, tasking, implementing a quality review process for all deliverables, and following up on others’ work to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
- Relevant experience developing communications strategies, tactical implementation plans, and content in a range of voices, styles, and formats.
- Highly organized, efficient, and extremely detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills for face-to-face interactions with clients, co-workers, and leadership and preparing high quality, client-ready deliverables.
- Ability to learn quickly, perform complex tasks following established procedures, and condense complex information from diverse sources into concise, attractive, and user-friendly formats.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of web-based systems such as SharePoint and Teams.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, and Confluence.
- PMP or other project management certification
- Experience in federal government contracting, especially with HHS
- Experience in health, science, and healthcare projects

This role will work closely with The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), under the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy (ASTP), to support the coordination and implementation of health IT initiatives across the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The Project Manager will play a critical part in advancing nationwide interoperability, promoting the use of ONC-adopted standards, and ensuring alignment of health IT systems across federal agencies.
