      Description

      This is a full-time, 11-month position that reports directly to the Director of Sports Medicine. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pre-K-12 grades Athletic Trainer to join our dynamic team, responsible for providing comprehensive sports medicine services to student-athletes across various grade levels. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in injury prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, and emergency care. The Pre-K-12 grades Athletic Trainer will collaborate with coaches, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of student-athletes and contribute to a positive and safe athletic environment.


      Duties & Responsibilities


      Injury Prevention and Education

      • Develop and implement effective injury prevention programs for student-athletes.
      • Collaborate with Sports Performance to educate coaches, athletes, and parents on proper conditioning, nutrition, and injury avoidance strategies.

      Injury Assessment and Rehabilitation

      • Evaluate and diagnose sports-related injuries, providing timely and accurate assessments.
      • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans, monitoring progress and adjusting as needed.
      • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for advanced assessments and treatment when necessary.

      Emergency Care

      • Provide immediate and appropriate care for athletic injuries, including on-field emergencies.
      • Ensure compliance with emergency action plans and coordinate with medical professionals for severe cases.

      Collaboration and Communication

      • Work closely with coaches, teachers, and parents to promote a collaborative approach to student-athlete well-being.
      • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, keeping records of injuries and treatment plans.
      • Communicate effectively with with athletes, parents, healthcare providers, and school staff and administrators (HIPPA and FERPA compliant), keeping records of injuries and treatment plans
      • Create a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes

      Administration and Record-Keeping

      • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all student-athletes.
      • Keep abreast of changes in health and safety regulations, implementing best practices in athletic training.
      • Supply and budget management
      • Organizing and assisting with pre-participation physicals
      • Comply with policies and procedures
      • Create and maintain emergency action plans at all events and venues

      Professional Development

      • Stay current with advancements in athletic training, attending workshops, conferences, and pursuing continuing education opportunities.
      • Maintain required certifications and licenses, including CPR and AED.

      Requirements

      • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
      • Board of Certification (BOC) certified Athletic Trainer, in good standing.
      • Current Colorado state licensed athletic trainer, valid with DORA, or the ability to obtain license prior to start date.
      • Experience working with Pre-K-12 student-athletes preferred.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
      • CPR and AED certification.
      • The position may require lifting, carrying, and transporting athletic equipment and assisting with on-field emergencies.

      The pay for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience. Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance benefit programs are available, as is a 403(b) retirement plan. Eligibility for all benefit programs is defined by the applicable plan document.
