      Purpose of the Position:

      The Athletics Announcer will provide public address or broadcast commentary at UAH athletics events, including volleyball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, and special events.

      Duties/Responsibilities
      • In-game announcing as either public address or broadcast commentary
      • Pregame preparation including accessing statistics, starting lineups and researching teams at competition
      • In-game assistance with coordinating music, promotions and advertising reads.
      • Assistance postgame in breaking down public address or broadcasting equipment.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • High school education or equivalent.
      • Prior history of working sporting events.
      • Prior history of public speaking
      • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
      • Must understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.

      Desired Qualifications:

      • Prior history as a public address announcer at athletics events
      • Prior history as a broadcast commentator at athletics events
      • Ability to communicate effectively with the general public, students, coaches, and administrators.
      • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

      Published Salary (if available):

      $15.00 (FTE=$31,200)
