Atomic Layer Modeling Intern - Advanced Degree
This job is now closed
Job Description
- Req#: R2410259
Use molecular dynamics simulations to investigate leading-edge plasma etch and deposition processes or relevance to microelectronics fabrication.
Develop a quantum-chemistry framework to model processes where energetic ions and neutral radicals interact with surfaces, especially within nanometer-scale features.
Atomistic modeling of atomic layer etch and deposition. Interface with experimentalists (process engineers) to understand the highest value problems that can be understood using fundamental computational modeling.
Interface with modeling engineers to understand what species are generated in plasmas used for etching and deposition and their characteristics.
Interface with modeling engineers to understand how data from fundamental modeling can be used in Monto Carlo feature scale simulations.
Present results in group meetings.
Pursuing an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, or Chemistry
In good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
Ideally have used molecular dynamics or ab initio methods to investigate phenomena within materials or at surfaces at the atomic scale
Familiarly with plasmas, plasma – surface interactions, and ion interactions with materials is useful but not required
Familiarity with molecular dynamics modeling would be helpful
Ability to collaborate with other modeling engineers and experimental colleagues
