Come have the best summer ever in 2024 and get paid for it! Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is hiring Attendants for the 2024 summer season.
The ideal candidate will e njoy a fast-paced work environment, have excellent communication skills and most importantly, maintaining safety as our priority in our daily operations. The DPR has 8 aquatic facilities to include: 2 indoor pools, 4 community pools and 2 waterparks. The DPR team manages over 80 developed and undeveloped properties that include Regional Parks, Community Parks, Water Parks, Community Pools, Community Centers, Golf Courses, Marinas, amphitheaters and more. W e are currently hiring attendants at below DPR facilities for the upcoming summer season!

Available Positions:
WATERWORKS - AQUATIC ATTENDANT I (age 16+) Dispatches riders at the top of waterslides and ensures safety of guests in and around aquatic attractions.
This position has a minimum requirement of 8th grade education. All shifts will range from early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
The Department of Parks and Recreation conducts DMV records checks on all licensed employees and criminal background checks on all hires age 18 years and older.

Incumbents monitor areas, participants, and events to ensure the safety of all visitors and participants. Responsibilities include: monitoring games, practices, and events to ensure compliance with code of conduct; assisting patrons as needed; and performing reception and concession duties.
Distinguishing CharacteristicsThis position is responsible for monitoring games, events, and practices; ensuring compliance with applicable code of conduct rules; providing customer services; and performing reception and/or concession duties.
TYPICAL CLASS RESPONSIBILITIES (These responsibilities are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
1. Monitors games, practices, and events to ensure compliance with code of conduct and other regulations.
2. Performs reception and concession duties during sporting events.
3. Provides customer assistance by directing customers to requested services.
4. Compiles and maintains a variety of logs, records, and reports related to daily activities including activity reports and work orders.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS8th grade education and 0-12 months of related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMinimum 14-16 years old, depending on position; First Aid Certification and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification may be required depending on position; Federal or State background check may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPositions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, and intense noises.
