      Job summary

      Looking to gain experience in an administrative position within the healthcare sector?

      Look no further, this is a great opportunity that has arisen for an Administrative Assistant to work within our dynamic and highly functioning secretarial team at Hull. The post will be based in the Cellular Pathology Department atHull Royal Infirmary.

      This post will provide an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of a broad range of skills for future development.

      Main duties of the job

      The main duties will include dealing with correspondence from service users, ensuring referral to treatment and cancer pathway targets are met, sorting the incoming and outgoing Cellular Pathology reports.

      Primarily working with the team of Cellular Pathology Consultants and Cellular Pathology Laboratory Team, the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, recent secretarial/administration experience. A sound knowledge of medical vocabulary would be an advantage, and essentially applicants will be proficient at audio-typing and have a working experience of digital dictation.

      The applicant will be expected to have a flexible approach to work, extremely well organised, exercise excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure; and must be able to work effectively as a team member with a willingness to learn.
