      Job summary

      Guy's and St. Thomas's NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic Audiologist to join the Adult Rehabilitation and Diagnostics team. You will have a BSc in Audiology or BSc Healthcare Science (Audiology) or equivalent, and be registered, or in the process of registering, with RCCP/AHCS.HCPC.

      We are recruiting for a Fixed Term (18 months) Full time position (37.5 hours per week).

      Main duties of the job

      The successful applicants should have general Paediatric and Adult Audiological experience.

      The post holder will be expected to support routine ENT (adult and paediatric) clinics as well as adult rehabilitation clinics. There will be scope for further training and development in other areas of audiology.

      Working with administrative and audiological staff, the post holder will work across the two sites of Guys Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital.

      Knowledge and Ability/Experience

      Essential

      • Basic assessment and management of adult patients with hearing difficulties.
      • Ability to formulate appropriate clinical management plans based on good case history information, and to seek further assistance when required.
      • Ability to prioritise & work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
      • Previous experience of working in a clinical Audiology environment.

      Desirable

      • Theoretical and practical knowledge of the assessment and rehabilitation of hearing impaired adults, including associated problems such as tinnitus handicap, and hearing aid and auditory implant technology
      • Experience of research and development activities, including audit of clinical outcomes as required

      Skills

      Essential

      • Good IT skills
      • High standard of oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a range of patients with different requirements.
      • Theoretical knowledge of behavioural and electrophysiological diagnostic audiological and vestibular assessment procedures in the adult population
      • Knowledge and experience of equipment maintenance and calibration

      Desirable

      • Awareness of national Audiology and NHS developments
