      Job Summary:
      As a Custodian I, this position is responsible for performing general custodial duties; and is responsible for cleaning offices, classrooms, labs, hallways, lounges and restrooms throughout the Auraria Campus. Duties include disinfecting restrooms and drinking fountains; restocking soap and paper products in dispensers; washing entrance windows; cleaning chalkboards, trays and erasers; reporting insect and rodent infestation; emptying and cleaning waste containers and disposing of the trash in the dumpster; dusting or washing furniture; sweeping, dusting, damp mopping, and vacuuming in all areas and moving furniture and removing snow from walks when necessary.
      Schedule:
      The schedule for our Custodian I position is Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
      Minimum Qualifications:
      • Six (6) months of full-time custodial or laundry experience in a professional work setting.
      • Valid and unencumbered Colorado Driver's license.
      Conditions of Employment:
      • The person selected for this position must maintain their ability to stand for long periods of time as well as kneel, stoop, crouch, reach and grab in the performance of job-related duties.
      • This person selected for this position must maintain their ability to perform the physical demands of this position which include physical manipulating and moving furniture and supplies in excess of 10 lbs. on a frequent basis as well as 20 lbs. to 50 lbs. (occasionally).
      • Must be willing and able to withstand exposure to dust and fumes associated with cleaning agents and custodial work.
      • Must be willing and able to be exposed to adverse weather while performing snow removal duties in front of building entry/exit ways (as needed).
      • Please note that if offered employment, candidates will be required to furnish a copy of the motor vehicle report (MVR) as part of the background check process.
      Additional Information: A successful candidate will demonstrate responsible professional conduct at all times; will be punctual and observe scheduled work hours; will not abuse leave and will follow call-in procedures. The successful candidate will also follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment, when required. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate their ability to communicate/converse effectively with others (customers, peers and supervisors) in English.
