- Providing hands on assistance to other custodial staff as they clean offices, classrooms, restrooms, and lounges, including collecting trash; cleaning trash cans and replacing liners; replacing toilet paper, paper towels and soap.
- Cleaning and disinfecting bathroom fixtures; wiping furniture, telephones, cabinets, bookshelves, lecterns and doors with a damp treated rag; cleaning glass, mirrors, hand dryers, kick plates, blinds and window ledges.
- Spot cleaning carpets; vacuuming; dust mopping and damp mopping hard floors; running an automatic floor machine on hard floors stripping hardwood floors with chemicals; and shampooing carpets with extractor and chemicals.
- Exercising supervisory/administrative responsibility for ordering, storing, and issuing supplies as needed.
- Administer training for new custodial staff.
- Conduct regular inspections of cleaned areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and address and deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate records of employee time and attendance.
- Attends biweekly lead meetings.
- One (1) year of fulltime janitorial work.
- Possess a valid unencumbered Colorado drivers license.
- Must maintain their ability to stand for long periods of time as well as kneel, stoop, crouch, reach and grab in the performance of job-related duties.
- Must maintain their ability to perform the physical demands of this position which include physical manipulating and moving furniture and supplies in excess of 10 lbs. on a frequent basis as well as 20 lbs. to 50 lbs. (occasionally).
- Must be willing and able to withstand exposure to dust and fumes associated with cleaning agents and custodial work.
- Must be willing and able to be exposed to adverse weather while performing snow removal duties in front of building entry/exit ways (as needed).
- Any offer of employment is contingent on the successful passing of a physical and psychological examination by a licensed doctor or health care facility. The health care facility will be selected or approved by the Auraria Campus in order to determine whether the prospective employee can perform the essential functions of the job.
- Must maintain a valid and unencumbered Colorado driver license.

As a Custodian II, this position is responsible for work leading a group of employees that provide a clean and healthy environment conducive to the delivery of higher education.Job Schedule: This position is a swing shift position.
