What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Request, follow-up, obtain, and validate authorizations/referrals/notifications with appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes
- Meet individual quality metrics while coordinating patient flow and timely processing
- Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements, pricing, financial assistance options, and overall revenue cycle operations
- Address patient questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion
- Provide friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year experience in validating/obtaining authorizations with insurance payers
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and excellent customer service abilities
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
- Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR applications
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole
