What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide medical administration support by obtaining referrals or prior authorizations for patients
- Process authorization and referral requests for members in coordination with health plans and contracted providers
- Support Case Management staff and serve as a resource for providers regarding the authorization process
- Ensure accurate and consistent completion of referrals and authorizations with minimal supervision
- Maintain detailed records and follow up on pending requests

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a healthcare setting and insurance verification
- Minimum of 2 years experience with insurance prior authorizations and referrals, including electronic health records
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word
