Job Description
- Req#: 12768
- Manage submissions for assessments, initial service authorizations, and re-authorizations, ensuring proper follow-up according to established cadence.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client accounts in both CRM and EHR systems and provide status updates to centers and leadership.
- Build and nurture relationships with government and commercial payor case managers, billing/IVT teams, and clinical staff to ensure smooth Prior Authorization processes.
- Resolve open or pending Authorization Requests promptly by researching, following up, and communicating with third-party payors.
- Monitor Authorization thresholds for all client accounts to ensure timely re-authorization submissions and prevent coverage lapses.
- Assist clinicians and intake teams with assessment and initial authorizations, addressing any concerns related to paperwork and delays.
- Support leadership in analyzing patterns of authorization denials, identifying corrective actions or training needs.
- Troubleshoot documentation issues to ensure clean and accurate authorization submissions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in clinical, insurance verification, or authorizations within a behavioral health or medical clinic setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with Salesforce and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Authorization Specialist I to join our dynamic team at Behavioral Innovations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and tracking client authorizations for specific payors, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up and communication with clinical staff, leadership, and insurance providers. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role. This position will report to the Authoriations Supervisor.
