Job Title: Auto Body Painter Helper

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Auto Body Painter Helper to join our team. This position involves assisting with the preparation and painting of various parts, including carbon steel components. The role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in the painting industry. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for the paint line
• Learn and perform various paint prep tasks such as hanging, taping, sanding, buffing, and conducting visual checks
• Assist with painting carbon steel parts

Essential Skills

• Experience in painting, industrial sanding, and paint preparation
• Familiarity with auto body paint and wet coat painting
• Ability to use spray guns, hand tools, and work in a paint booth
• Knowledge of powder coating, buffing, sandblasting, and blasting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in prep work for residential or industrial painting
• Willingness to learn and grow into a painter role within the shop

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled, with heaters provided in the winter and industrial fans in the summer. Personal protective equipment, including coveralls, is provided. Closed-toed shoes are required, but steel-toed shoes are not necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Apex, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
