Today, there are more than 6,000 NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores. About 1,000 of them are corporate owned, and Genuine Parts Company is the employer for these locations. However, there are about 5,000 independently owned and operated NAPA AUTO PARTS Stores where individual store owners are the employer. This position is through an independently owned and operated store.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of a store that is growing its business? We at NAPA Auto Parts in Rockaway, NJ is looking for an experienced counter person. 5+ years of auto parts experience required!! Must be a knowledgeable and energetic person who wants to sell automotive parts in the Rockaway, NJ area.
Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:
- Answering questions and taking sales orders for motor vehicle parts in person and/or over the phone
- Responsible for ordering parts, maintaining stock, unpack and store incoming shipments, searching information in catalogs and on NAPA's and other computer bases
- Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
- Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available
- Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money
- Discuss use and features of various parts, based on knowledge of machines or equipment
- Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain functioning of equipment.
- Outside Sales calls may be required when called uponQualifications
Skills Required:
- Auto parts experience
- Computer literate with TAMS 2 knowledge preferred
- Needs to be assertive enough to suggestive sell.
- Should be people oriented and able to explain technical information to the general public.
- Needs to have a good eye for detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Must be able to work weekends
- Further training will be given as needed - paid holidays, sick and vacation days
