  Summary

  The Solution Architect partners with the sales team to perform the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the development of a solution architecture on a per initiative basis with a relentless focus on Business Outcomes. Provide expert advice on solution design, development, integrations, and implementations of automation solutions using various technologies, including web, mobile, cloud, and open source. The candidate should possess a demonstrated breadth of knowledge across various enterprise solutions and ability to provide guidance to stakeholders.
  
  The Solutions Architecture team has three key imperatives. They must ensure solutions are complete, consistent, and are delivered with the expected business outcome. They must do this one solution at a time. They will be the head “thinkers” on key initiatives that Automation must deliver to the customer. These Solutions Architects will be responsible for the overall design and layout of the solution and ensure that all fit together from an enterprise perspective.

  Job Responsibilities & Requirements

  Essential Functions:

  • Understand, advocate, and augment the principles of automation solutions.
  • Understand and analyze business outcomes, capabilities, and drivers to determine corresponding change requirements.
  • Analyze the production environment to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement (run, grow and transform the business across systems of record, differentiation, and innovation).
  • Analyze competitors, technology, industry, and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the business.
  • Define the principles to guide solution decisions for the customer.
  • Develop a roadmap of the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from future to current state (as defined by the SA).
  • Coordinate solution architecture implementation and modification activities.
  • Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Work closely with the sales team and customer to ensure execution of plans with what is being promised.
  • Translate complex functional, technical, and business requirements into architectural designs.
  • Be an innovative thinker, analyzing and implementing ways to improve processes and procedures.
  • Be customer service oriented by anticipating customer needs and providing timely, quality, satisfying services and support.
  • Be team oriented, engaging and supporting team efforts and performance around organizational goals in a collaborative and professional manner.

  Skills & Abilities:

  Job/Technical/Computer Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in component manufacturing with responsibilities in one or more of the areas – Production, Component Design, Software Support, or Machinery Support.
  • Innovative ideas to reduce overall cost of deliverables with improved quality and time to market
  • Proven experience influencing business and technology leadership
  • Excellent professional written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly through self-study.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Lead project teams in solutions design and development of complex systems.

  Education:

  At least 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and professional experience

  • Communicate architectural policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Builds a high level of trust and rapport with others throughout the organization.
