      Job Title: Automation Technician - 3rd Shift


      Job Description

      This position is for a 3rd shift Automation Technician, responsible for maintaining and supporting product-specific automated work cells to minimize downtime and optimize productivity. The shift runs from Sunday to Thursday, 11 PM to 7 AM.

      Responsibilities

      • Maintain and support automated work cells to minimize downtime.
      • Respond to downtime situations promptly to restore machine functionality.
      • Perform preventative maintenance on automated work cells and document maintenance activities.
      • Evaluate and identify potential future maintenance needs and issues.
      • Conduct process verification procedures on automated work cells.
      • Follow process deviation procedures when changing parameters.

      Essential Skills

      • Familiarity with automation equipment troubleshooting and repair, primarily mechanical.
      • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC Controllers and Siemens Controllers.
      • Proficiency in editing, troubleshooting, and performing crash recovery on Staubli or Fanuc robotics.
      • 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and preventative maintenance on automation equipment.
      • 5-7 years of experience in editing and programming PLCs.
      • 5-7 years of experience working with robotics equipment and end-of-arm tooling.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience in electrical troubleshooting would be an advantage.
      • Experience in hydraulic repair.
      • PLC programming proficiency.
      • Robot programming skills.
      • Leadership experience in managing a team of automation technicians for at least 5 years.

      This role is set in a production manufacturing environment requiring occasional use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes. The company is fast-paced, ensuring a stimulating and engaging workplace.

      Job Type & Location

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
