- PLC Programming: Develop, configure, and maintain PLC programs to control various stages of the fruit processing operations.
- HMI Development: Create intuitive and user-friendly Human-Machine Interfaces to monitor and control plant processes, ensuring operators have real-time visibility into the production environment.
- SCADA System Integration: Integrate Ignition SCADA system to gather and analyze data from various equipment and sensors, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to control systems, minimizing downtime, and ensuring smooth operations.
- System Upgrades: Plan and implement upgrades to control systems to keep them up to date with the latest technologies and industry standards.
- Associate degree in Industrial Automation and Control Technology or a similar field, or an equivalent amount of experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and at least 1 year of control systems experience.
- Working knowledge of PLC, HMI, and SCADA hardware and software, such as Allen Bradley (SLC500, PLC-5), Siemens, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Inductive Automation Ignition, FactoryTalk, and communication protocols and devices, such as Ethernet, ControlNet, Device Net, Data Highway Plus.
- Ability to create, read, analyze, and develop technical procedures, process flow schematics, electrical, and instrumentation controls.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

We are looking for an Automation Technician – Manufacturing for the implementation, and maintenance of process control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our tomato processing plant, TomaTek, located in Firebaugh, CA.
