Charismatic communicator that can advocate for Automotive OEMs + Tier1s to an internal audience as well as on behalf of Sony towards those same customers.
Solid Problem-Solving methodology with exceptional presentation and written communication abilities.
A passionate and curious image sensor technologist with hands-on evaluation/characterization experience.
Support customers through their full product development cycle: Evaluation, design-in (schematic and layout review), camera bring-up (initialization), IQ tuning, debug, and failure analysis.
Coordination with internal teams such as sales, marketing, design, and support engineering both locally and with our HQ teams in Japan for customer issue resolution, project status updates, product requirements, project planning, etc.
BS in EE / ECE/ CE or Physics
3+ years of experience as an FAE or technical support engineer, preferably in the automotive imaging markets.
Located in the Detroit Michigan Metro Area
Able to travel locally to work with customers onsite as well as remotely from home.
Understanding of Automotive image sensor and camera board design fundamentals such as component selection and placement (SMPS, LDOs, clocks, SERDES, etc.), as well as routing best practices for power and data lines.
Functional understanding and ability to debug automotive camera Serializer/ Deserializer pairs (SERDES) such as GMSL and FPD-Link.
Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity fundamentals
Working understanding of Automotive Functional Safety standards (ISO26262)
Fluency in English as well as an understanding of Japanese based communication style and cultural practices.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $134,000.00 to 178,000.00. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for a bonus and a sign-on payment, and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare benefits (medical, dental, and vision), paid medical leave after three months of employment, a 401k plan with matching company contributions, vacation time, education assistance, student loan assistance program, eighty hours of paid sick leave time annually, and up to twelve weeks paid parental leave after six months of employment.
