- Grind welds and other areas of the vehicle to prepare for painting.
- Sand vehicles in preparation for painting.
- Perform buffing on basic items such as smart access and smaller components.
- Complete final and advanced buffing as needed.
- Tape and mask areas for bodywork and painting.
- Caulk exterior and interior areas of the vehicle to prepare for painting.
- Use body filler and prepare areas for painting.
- Apply primer coat of paint using paint equipment.
- Paint wheels and apply finished painting on swinging doors, bodies, and smart access components.
- Maintain and clean paint equipment.
- Operate stationary and overhead cranes as needed.
- Operate all necessary equipment and tools to perform the job.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned.
- Experience in painting, industrial painting, and paint preparation.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and production equipment.
- Detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to operate a paint booth and spray gun effectively.
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure for precise measurements.
- Vocational training in bodywork/vehicle repair or equivalent experience.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to read and understand truck specification blueprints and documents.
- Strong communication skills.
Job Title: Automotive Painter
Job Description
As an Automotive Painter, you will be responsible for the complete paint preparation and painting process of fire trucks. This role requires the ability to wear a respirator when necessary to perform job duties effectively.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing environment focused on fire trucks, with two plants in Brandon. The role involves working in spray booths to prep and paint steel structure trucks. You will work a shift from 4 PM to 4:30 AM Monday through Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM. The team consists of 15-20 employees.

This is a Permanent position based out of Brandon, South Dakota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $47840.00/yr.
