High School Diploma or any equivalent combination of training and experience
Two years in the automobile parts industry at the retail level, and experience in the operation of an automated parts inventory system
Must be able to obtain State of Texas class “C” vehicle operator’s license within 30 days of employment
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Ability to work several TAMU home football games in case of emergency part replacement
Prefer National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence certification in automotive parts and medium and heavy truck specialists or any equivalent major manufacturer certification
Parts Administration-Responsible for receiving, stocking, and issuing parts. Responsible for maintaining and protecting the inventory stored in all parts rooms. Obtains auto parts if it is not deliverable by operating a motor vehicle. Responsible for mounting/dismounting and cleaning bus/truck tires and rims. Responsible for utilizing the parts software provided through the FASTER fleet management software.
Inventory Control- Assists in monitoring inventory by running reports on inventory turns. Sets up and adjusts minimum and maximum reorder points. Removes obsolete parts. Monitors fluid inventory with the exception of fuel. Tracks parts warranty and recovering money or replacement parts according to the warranty. Provides support for physical inventory by assisting with locating parts and answering questions. Assists with monthly cycle counts.
Administration- Responsible for updating work order status in FASTER. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction. Special projects related to Parts Inventory.
Leader- Responsible for shift activities, staffing and customer relations in the absence of the Vehicle Shop Supervisor. Assign job tasks to students. Ensure the safety of the shop to include ensuring all mechanics are utilizing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. safety glasses and using all equipment properly.

What You Need to Know
Salary: $16.00/hr
Regular work hours will be Monday – Friday 1:00pm-10:00pm. Hours are subject to change between University semesters and class breaks. Will be required to work Saturday home football games as needed.
