What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct audits of automotive repair dealers and smog check stations to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Review documentation such as repair orders and inspection reports to assess accuracy and completeness
- Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings and recommending corrective actions
- Provide onsite education and guidance to dealership staff regarding compliance requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service and support
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Senior-level experience working in an automotive dealership with deep knowledge of Bureau of Automotive Repair compliance
- Ability to stay current with legal, regulatory, and compliance trends
- Strong communication skills, both in-person and in writing, with the ability to interact with clients at all levels
- Demonstrated integrity and ability to foster a compliance culture
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience with BAR-regulated businesses
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.) are a plus
- Strong writing and public speaking abilities
- Knowledge of the STAR program and vehicle emissions control systems
