Job Description
- Req#: 476
- Performs routine preventative maintenance services in conformance with manufacturer specifications
- Repairs light-duty vehicles and equipment systems
- Diagnoses, repairs, and orders parts for light-duty vehicle and equipment systems
- Performs minor repairs on systems such as engines, brakes, cooling, and starting and charging
- Maintains accurate records of services performed
- Cleans tools and maintains a clean/orderly shop
- Follows the city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience in light duty vehicle maintenance

- Completed at least 2 years of high school
- Full-time student enrolled in a technical school, trade school, or in high school, in good academic standing, on an automotive mechanic track.
- Valid driver license

Summary
Under the general supervision of Fleet Foremen(s), assists with repairing City vehicles/equipment and maintaining other various small engines for the Fleet Services Division. This position will have the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by Automotive Technicians. During the summer, we also offer summer internships for students enrolled in a school program, in good academic standing, on an automotive mechanic track.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
