- Audio Video systems: switching, routing, control systems, display devices, scalers, amplifiers, speakers, microphones, and rack layouts
- AV-related programming languages & methodologies for Crestron, Extron, and/or Vaddio, Dante audio protocols, Network topology, Unified communications, VoIP, SIP, Cisco Telepresence, Zoom and Teams
- Installation and support of AV systems and equipment including front/rear projection, flat-panel displays, control systems, and Digital and Analog AV signal routing and processing equipment.
- Basic computer networking and support
- Microsoft Office, Outlook and other business software
- English language to include grammar, spelling, sentence structure and vocabulary
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
- Represent Johnson County and perform duties in a professional, responsible and trustworthy manner
- Provide customer service that is courteous, and responsive
- Learn and apply new computer techniques at a high rate of speed

- Have sufficient vision which permits moderate to heavy production and review of a wide variety of materials in both electronic and hardcopy forms
- Have sufficient manual dexterity to make handwritten notations and which permits moderate use of a keyboard and mouse
- Sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, bend, twist, reach and use a step stool or ladder as needed
- Push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds
- Have sufficient personal mobility to complete field work at various county facilities and other locations
- Occasionally work at heights

- Design and install AV systems (in conference rooms, meeting rooms, board rooms) according to systems documentation and industry standards and best-practices.
- Troubleshoot AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, webcasting, visual display or projection, and control system (Extron, Crestron) operations.
- Determine, evaluate, and diagnose advanced video related connection issues and performance problems.
- Programming and commissioning of Crestron, Extron and Biamp.
- Analyzes and diagnoses computer system hardware, software, and operator problems.
- Install and support security cameras and systems.
- Assists with conference calling, video conferencing, and web-based conferencing.
- Recommends and/or performs problem resolution.
- Responds to and initiates work orders when necessary.
- Responds to inquiries from county employees concerning AV and computer systems operation.
- Trains and advises county employees on use of AV and personal computer equipment, software, and manuals.
- Answers/routes phone calls and responds effectively to users.
- Performs PC Desktop Support Technician work when not working on AV systems.
- Attends work-related meetings, training and conferences as requested.
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with County policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Attends work regularly at the designated place and time.
Under general supervision is responsible for supporting the design, installation, configuration, programing, testing, maintenance, and upgrade of complex AV systems in conference rooms and public meeting spaces. Integrating with conferencing software such as MS teams and Zoom. Support and installation of video surveillance systems on the campus. Installs, modifies, and makes repairs to personal computer and printer hardware, and software systems. Provides technical assistance to County computer users.
