      DHL has an immediate opening for a Flight Coordinator at our MIA Aviation station in Miami, Florida. Under the direction of the Senior OPS Supervisor, complies with coordination of movement for export, import and transit cargo following procedures established to provide an effective and efficient service at the highest level. In addition, the jobholder must exercise judgment and initiative to efficiently handle day to day ACS material situations.

      Key Accountabilities

      • Assists other stations in any special Transit Cargo related issue
      • Maintains well organized and updated special handling material files
      • Proactively anticipate issues and initiates actions to solve them in coordination with station of origin. Provides feedback to direct superior about any irregularity observed in the Import or Export warehouse, which would affect the optimum connection of shipments, in order to take corrective actions
      • Inputs any comments necessary in the TGV system providing prompt information to customers and stations
      • Ensures accuracy of outbound and transit special handling shipments documents and transit time compliance
      • Responsible for supporting the AVI OPS Supervisors coordinating and updating warehouse operation information according CPA list, which would enhance the operation effectiveness and our customer services; i.e. receiving of priorities, special handling shipments and documents
      • Responsible for preparing Post Ops reports for special handling and in transit shipments identifying root cause failures, if any, and make recommendations for solutions
      • Proactively daily identifies those accounts in need of special attention and share the information during Operations PD’s
      • Coordinate offload of special handling shipments, if necessary
      • Evaluates ramp operation to optimize transit, reports to Sr. Ops Supervisor and manages follow up
      • Ensures movement of shipments according to established company safety policies and procedures
      • Ensures proper receiving of special handling product, minimizing claim cost and improving customer services and operation stress
      • Supports coordination of special PER projects between DHL Aviation and DHL Express
      • Analyses process and provides recommendations for changes, where needed and supports full implementation
      • Support AMS Transmissions
      • Submits special projects in a timely manner
      • Provides prompt response to special services request
      • Supports Company guidelines to accomplish required ACS Score Card results
      • And other assigned duties as required
      • Problem Solving: The job holder must ensure Cargo operation solutions based on Company standards
      • Decision-Making: The jobholder should be able to take clear and prompt decisions within his main operational responsibilities. Other decisions are subject to prior consultation with higher levels
      • Planning and organizing: It is an open task to plan and organize a self-cargo operation
      • Job Challenge: Comply and surpass ACS high quality standards established by the company

      Skills and Qualifications

      • College Degree or equivalent experience
      • Minimum two years of experience working in air cargo positions.
      • Bilingual English – Spanish is a plus
      • PC literate.
      • Well organized, proactive, committed
      • Good interpersonal relations

      • Able to work under pressure
      • Able to work under minimum supervision
      • Customer oriented
      • Availability to work in the day and/or night shifts, weekends and holidays
