Job Description
- Req#: 4918111
- Monitor pedestrian and vehicular traffic at assigned gates, ensuring all individuals and vehicles display valid Massport security badges and permits before entry.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and operate screening equipment to detect prohibited items and prevent unauthorized access to secured areas.
- Issue Temporary Visitor Passes and Vehicle Tags after thorough background checks and maintain logs for vehicles requiring escorts and unusual occurrences.
- Enforce TSA and Massport compliance, complete necessary documentation, report major security violations, and serve as a member of the first response team when required.
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice (please see Eligibility Path 1 or 2 in detailed job description)
- Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and demonstrate basic oral, written, mathematical, and manual skills including the ability to operate computer and machinery.
- 2+ years of police/security, military experience or law enforcement experience (as described in detailed job description)

As an Aviation Officer (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 25), you are security-minded and vigilant in support of Massport’s top goal, safety & security. You possess strong communication skills, including verbal and written abilities, and can make quick decisions to solve problems. Your collaboration with team members, State Police, and Massport Operations is essential, requiring adaptability and a strong sense of professionalism and integrity.
