Role Summary:

The AVP, Public Relations and Celebrity will lead developing, planning and overseeing the strategy and execution of public relations, celebrity and image building plans for Saks. This individual will serve as a thought leader within the organization to ensure proactive public relations campaigns, strong messaging and meaningful coverage to drive visibility for the brand and strong earned media results are achieved. This leader will work cross functionally with internal business partners, external vendors and brands, and leadership within the organization, to create impactful communication strategies that drive consumer, industry, and vendor preference for Saks. The role is expected to forge and foster key senior relationships with media outlets, key press, editors, and influential partners within the industry. Additionally, the AVP will lead the vision and execution of the brand's ongoing celebrity strategy tied to events, press and Saks campaigns.

Key Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in writing media communications materials and pitching press, with a proven track record of successful media placements

• Experience in providing strategic direction and oversight of earned media strategy

• Deep understanding of the luxury retail, digital retail space with a strong knowledge of the competitive landscape

• Has existing strong industry and press relationships

• Ability to oversee significant budget

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Minimum 12 + years of experience in Fashion/Retail Public Relations, and Influence

• Ability to manage a large team, as well as manage an external agency of record

Role Description:

• Strategy Creation: Create, plan and manage the consumer, fashion, lifestyle and digital public relations strategy annually for key merchandise and brand initiatives along with daily ongoing implementation.

• Build and Foster Business Relationships: Oversee critical fashion media and press relationships for the brand and ensure that the team is well positioned with proactive relationships. management of agency relationships, and key media and pr contracts.

• Build World Class Teams: Build and lead a team to drive innovation and impactful performance, while identifying talent and assisting with their growth and development plans to grow future leaders within the team.

• Management : Lead creation of annual press strategy for the brand, along with individual strategies for marquee initiatives inclusive of goal setting, strategic initiatives, and measurement against key performance benchmarks.

• Deliver Exceptional Results: Create strategies and processes to ensure communications align with the brand, planning and leveraging resources and relationships to effectively deliver results and KPI’s

• Budget Planning: Oversee creation and management of Public Relations & Celebrity budgets
