Reviews consumer loan applications and supporting documentation to determine credit worthiness of applicant(s).
Ensures accuracy of all information entered into the system and clearly documents rational of credit decisions.
Contacts the customer/dealer to communicate loan decision and/or gather additional information, as needed.
A strong understanding of consumer credit.
Ability to understand and analyze the personal and business tax returns and/or financial statements of an applicant.
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well within a team environment.
Exceptional customer service skills are imperative.
Ability to effectively prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Must be highly detail oriented
Must be able to work some nights and weekends
Ability to read and interpret consumer credit reports
Proven analytical skills
2-3 years of experience in an underwriting capacity (indirect marine/RV underwriting a plus)
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or commensurate work experience
2-3 years in a banking/lending role
Able to work nights, weekends and flexible hours.
Job Purpose & ScopeBank OZK’s Indirect Lending division is seeking a highly professional and motivated individual who is interested in the open position for an Indirect Marine/RV Underwriter. This position involves the credit underwriting of boat and recreational vehicle loan requests submitted by an approved network of dealers and correspondent lenders.
The successful candidate should be highly detail oriented with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. A high level of customer contact is part of the normal course of business; particularly with respect to loan decisions that have been rendered.
