      Job Purpose:

      Cerberus is recruiting an AVP/VP, Tax Compliance to join its NY tax team. Your primary focus will involve tax matters for the firm’s management companies, global advisory entities, and general partnership structure. Reporting to the Managing Director, US Tax Compliance, you will also assist with fund tax compliance and other tax matters across the organization’s diverse footprint.

      Responsibilities/Deliverables:

      • Tax compliance for Management Company, General Partners (GP), and executive entities including preparation/review/oversight of:
        • Tax allocation and tax returns
        • Quarterly tax estimates
        • Coordination with management company controllers office for budgeting, projections, tax distributions, firm cash management, etc.
        • Oversight of firm principal related matters, such as pass-through entity tax (PTET) projections and payments
        • Coordination with non-U.S. advisory offices with respect to transfer pricing oversight, assistance/oversight with local country tax reporting obligations
        • Coordination and oversight of domestic tax compliance, planning and reporting, including roll up of tax reporting from foreign offices (GILTI/CFC reporting)
        • Assistance/advice with respect to HR/personnel-related tax matters
        • Awareness of personal tax planning objectives for HNW individuals
        • Heavy emphasis on the development of technology-based solutions

      Key Requirements:

      • 5-10 years of tax experience in public accounting/private sector
      • CPA and/or JD
      • Big 4 tax experience and/or in-house hedge fund/private equity/alternatives experience preferred
      • Undergraduate degree from an accredited academic institution
      • Experience with family office and high net worth personal tax matters a plus
      • Experience with international tax matters and transfer pricing a plus
      • Executive-level communication skills, with the ability to both explain the big picture clearly and concisely to senior management, and explain specific positions in detail
      • Thorough and meticulous with passion for accuracy
      • Hands-on mentality
      • Strong technology and process-oriented focus (Cerberus strives to optimize process efficiency through the use of technology, including centralized tax data management systems and software such as Alteryx, minimizing the use of Excel where possible)
      • Collaborative and team-oriented professional
      • Experience working with large, complex data sets

      The base salary for this position is expected to be between $150,000.00 and $175,000.00. The base salary offered to the chosen candidate will be commensurate with a candidate’s relevant experience and other qualifications for the position, as determined by the Company in its sole discretion. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus[, which is often a meaningful portion of the compensation package,] and a robust benefits package.
