Job Description
- Req#: 84381
- Must demonstrate sensitivity for the needs of international students: language difficulties, cultural/community/school adjustment
- Experience in programming for youth (Elementary and Jr /High school)
- Previous experience with a similar program would be considered an asset
- Advertising, Marketing, Promotions and Recruitment experience preferred
- Post-secondary study: Human Services, Early Childhood Education, or related field
- A combination of experience and training may be considered
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours which include daytime, evenings, and weekends
- Must have own transportation and a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Must be computer literate (email, correspondence, reports)
- Applicant should reside in catchment area
- The successful applicant will be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check and a completed Child Abuse Registry Check.

International Student Program Homestay Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education participates in an International Student Program that welcomes students from other countries who wish to attend school in Nova Scotia. The Centre for Education is seeking one Homestay Coordinator who resides within the Hants or Kings County area for the recruitment and monitoring of short term, high school students and host families for all schools within the Hants and Kings County. The Homestay Coordinator will act as a liaison between host families, the international students, schools and the AVRCE International Student Program.
Qualifications:
Remuneration is based on $100 per student for short term, (including vacation pay).
