      The funding for this position is time-limited and is not expected to extend beyond the 2028-2029 school year. Prior to termination of the grant funding, the employee will be notified of the elimination of the position and may apply and compete for available posted positions.

      Overall Purpose

      Manages the daily coordination of the Project AWARE grant to create a sustainable infrastructure for school-based mental health programs and services. The Project Aware District-LEA Project Manager will help leverage partnerships to implement mental health-related promotion, awareness, prevention, intervention, and resilience activities to ensure that school-aged youth have access and are connected to appropriate and effective behavioral health services.

      Essential Functions

      • Ensures that all local activities, curricula, programs, and services are consistent with SAMHSA policies and procedures and with the Project AWARE grant proposal.
      • Coordinates the local fiscal management and reporting responsibilities.
      • Collaborates with the NEGA RESA Project AWARE Project Director/Coordinator, SEA Coordinator, SMHA Coordinator, Local Advisory Board, Training Team, and Evaluation Team to coordinate local activities.
      • Coordinates the training, and co-trains on mental health-related trainings (such as Youth Mental Health First Aid, QPR, etc) for school personnel, families, and community adult responders.
      • Provides individual, group, and family mental health support services through the district.
      • Assessment and service plan development.
      • Facilitates project-related staff development training.
      • Coordinates ongoing local communication campaign.
      • Attends all meetings scheduled by the NEGA RESA Project AWARE Project Director/Coordinator, SEA Coordinator, and SMHA Coordinator and other relevant grantee meetings as required.
      • Perform other duties, as assigned.

      Requirements

      Master’s Degree in the field of education, mental health, substance abuse, social work, counseling, or related field required.

      Written and oral communication, project management, proficient in the use of technology, detailed-oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills; training


      Five (5) years of related supervisory or grant experience in the field of education, mental health substance abuse, social work, counseling, or criminal/juvenile justice;

      Five (5) years of related experience managing multi-agency community collaborative endeavors and grant funded projects involving school systems, public mental health agencies, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, and families.

      Physical Requirements

      Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.

      Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.

      Education/Training

      Maintains all licenses and certifications.
