      Job Title: AWS Migration Architect

      Location: Remote

      Job Type: Contractor

      Experience: 10+ Years in IT Infrastructure, Cloud Architecture, and Migration Programs

      Job Summary

      We are seeking an experienced AWS Migration Architect to lead the cloud migration strategy, workload assessment, and modernization of a large-scale on-premises IT landscape to AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud architecture, AWS/Azure migration frameworks, and assessment methodologies, along with strong collaboration and leadership skills to engage with business and technical stakeholders.

      Key Responsibilities

      · Discovery & Assessment: Lead a comprehensive discovery and assessment exercise to capture detailed data about all existing on-prem workloads.

      · Underlying hardware and software dependencies

      · Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to validate workload documentation and fill knowledge gaps.

      · Workload Classification: Retire, Remediate, Modernize, Transform – Candidates for re-platforming or complete re-architecture

      · Work closely with stakeholders to finalize classification

      · Cloud Destination Planning: Recommend suitable AWS and Azure service architectures and deployment models for each workload.

      · Define detailed cloud consumption forecasts to support and Budget estimation and optimization

      · Phased migration roadmaps and sequencing strategies

      · Migration Strategy and Execution Planning: Create high-level and detailed migration plans with timelines and resource allocations.

      · Define landing zones and design migration waves based on business impact and criticality.

      · Align migration strategy with AWS’s best practices (e.g., AWS Migration Acceleration Program - MAP).

      · Innovation and Tooling: Leverage Generative AI (GenAI) tools to accelerate discovery, especially for undocumented applications and codebases.

      · Recommend automation tools and practices for efficient workload discovery and migration.

      · Required Skills & Qualifications

      · 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud solutions, with 5+ years focused on cloud migration (AWS preferred).

      · Proven track record of delivering large-scale workload assessments and cloud migrations.

      · Expertise in AWS architecture and migration frameworks (MAP, AWS CAF).

      · Deep understanding of re-hosting, re-platforming, refactoring, and retiring workloads.

      · Familiarity with GenAI tools and code analysis platforms for application discovery.

      · Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

      · AWS Certifications preferred: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent.

      · Azure Architect

      Desirable Skills

      · Experience with tools like AWS Migration Hub, Application Discovery Service, and third-party CMDBs.

      · Familiarity with multi-cloud environments (GCP) for comparative planning.

      · ITIL, TOGAF, or SAFe certifications are a plus.
