      Overview:

      As an Azure Active Directory Engineer at M&T Bank, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our critical Azure Active Directory environment.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Manage enterprise cloud-based identity directories through Microsoft Azure AD (EntraID)
      • Implement Enterprise Applications/App Registrations and the corresponding authentication protocols.
      • Configure, deploy, and optimize Azure Conditional Access Policies.
      • Support business line applications configuration with Microsoft SSO and MFA with Azure AD.
      • Migrate applications from on-prem into the cloud for authentication.
      • Develop automated solutions using scripts, pipelines, and cloud-based server-less computing platforms.
      • Develop and enforce security policies and practices to protect sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance.
      • Monitor and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities, and high severity incidents.
      • Work closely with Technology management, senior Engineers, and support teams on a regular basis to implement and manage the design, development, and execution of technical solutions that meet or exceed current and future needs of the organization.
      • Regularly and independently interact with business partners of varying associate and management levels to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business requirements.
      • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
      • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
      • Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and changes.
      • Generate regular reports on system performance and security for management and compliance purposes.
      • Complete other related duties as assigned.

      Education and Experience Required:

      • Combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture
      • Understanding of the Azure AD Identity and Access Management Fundamentals
      • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SSO and MFA with Azure AD.
      • Solid understanding of Office 365 Administration
      • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

      Education and Experience Preferred:

      Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

      • Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in a technical engineering position involving infrastructure design technologies, data management and interchange, system design and/or development for complex applications
      • Experience with Azure App Proxy, Azure AD Connect, Azure AD RBAC and Role Management, Self Service Password Reset, Azure Passthrough Authentication, SQL Server, and Active Directory.
      • Knowledge of relevant compliance standards and regulations in the banking industry.
      • Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured high-quality implementations using any variety of industry standard approaches.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision.
      • Able to learn quickly in a rapid pace environment.

      M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $107,412.63 - $179,021.06 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
