  Job Summary

  We are looking for a seasoned and visionary Technical Architect with deep expertise in Cosmos DB and RESTful API design and development. In this role, you will architect scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions that power enterprise-grade applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define best practices, guide development, and ensure seamless integration of data and services across platforms.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Design and architect end-to-end backend solutions leveraging Cosmos DB, REST APIs, and cloud-native services, primarily on Azure.
  • Lead architecture reviews, develop technical specifications, and contribute to solution blueprints and integration patterns.
  • Define and enforce API standards, including versioning, security protocols (OAuth, JWT), rate limiting, and documentation.
  • Optimize Cosmos DB configurations for scalability, partitioning strategy, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, product managers, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Mentor and guide development teams on best practices in database design, API management, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure solutions are designed with strong security, reliability, and high availability considerations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends related to distributed systems and NoSQL databases.

  Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8 to 12+ years of experience in software architecture and development.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in:

  • • Cosmos DB (partitioning, indexing, consistency models, throughput management)
    • RESTful APIs (design, development, lifecycle management, documentation)
    • Backend technologies such as .NET Core, Java, or Node.js.

  • Experience with Azure Cloud Services including Azure Functions, API Management, Event Grid, etc.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API gateways, and serverless computing.
  • Proven leadership skills in architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentoring developers.
  • Demonstrated ability to design systems for scalability, security, and high availability in cloud environments.

  Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Familiarity with API management platforms like Azure API Management, Apigee, or Kong.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform).
  • Prior experience migrating data to Cosmos DB from SQL or MongoDB.
  • Exposure to event-driven architectures using Azure Event Hub or Service Bus.
