Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Solihull Physiotherapy Musculoskeletal Outpatient Team as a band 4 Therapy Support Worker. We are a large team of physiotherapists and support workers who assess and treat patients within the outpatient physiotherapy setting and gymnasium. Following appropriate training and a competency-based sign off the successful candidate will work autonomously, completing one to one assessments and undertaking gym classes, with the support of qualified physiotherapists when required.
The interview process will include a group based interview, from which a selection of candidates will be invited to take part in a formal sit down interview. You will need to be available for either a full morning or afternoon to complete the interview process. Interviews will take place on Tuesday 5th August and will be in person.
Main duties of the job
The role of a Band 4 Therapy Support Worker is to support the delivery of therapy services to patients within the Outpatient MSK department as Gym lead. The Therapy Support Worker will work under the supervision of registered therapists and will primarily support the provision of exercise-based rehabilitation at UHB. You will complete individual patient assessment and rehabilitation for specific conditions following a competency-based training programme and sign off. The role will support Physiotherapists who work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Outpatient MSK team. The Therapy Support Worker will be required to support the running of various Gym rehabilitation classes as well as pre and post class assessments. In addition to the role the band 4 Therapy support worker will also ensure that other Administration and Clerical duties are undertaken. Although 5-day working is the main weekly working pattern, we currently also work on a Saturday and therefore embrace the concept of 6/7 day working
