      Business Unit Overview:

      Blackstone Alternative Asset Management (BAAM®) manages approximately $80 billion across a diversified set of businesses, including a customized portfolio solutions business, a special situations platform, a business that purchases GP stakes in alternative asset managers, an open-ended mutual fund platform, and an emerging manager seeding business. BAAM invests across a variety of asset classes and strategies to create solutions for its investors. Through its sharp focus on clients’ goals, a rigorous due-diligence process and access to Blackstone’s global insights, BAAM strives to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns across market cycles while mitigating downside risk during stressed market environments.

      Job Title: BAAM- Quantitative Research, Analyst

      Job Description:

      Blackstone Alternative Asset Management’s (BAAM) Quantitative Research team is responsible for generating performance, attribution, optimization and risk analytics across BAAM’s businesses and researching, designing, and implementing systematic investment strategies that leverage BAAM’s proprietary data.

      Key responsibilities for this role include:

      • Data Infrastructure: Ongoing development and maintenance of internal data solutions with a focus on highly scalable and computationally efficient data and analytical infrastructure.

      • Portfolio Analytics: Develop, execute, and analyze ongoing and bespoke performance and portfolio analytics across attribution, portfolio construction, portfolio optimization and risk modeling.

      • Quantitative Research: conduct signal research using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques utilizing conventional and alternative data sources, including proprietary BAAM and Blackstone data.

      • Collaboration across other BAAM groups, including Investment teams, Operations, Treasury and Legal, is critical.

      Qualifications:

      • 2+ years of experience in quantitative research capacity

      • Graduate degree in quantitative discipline

      • Hands on knowledge and experience applying advanced statistical and machine learning techniques

      • Advanced programming skills in Python (knowledge in C++ is a plus) and extensive experience working with macro and asset class specific market data

      • Deep knowledge of common risk frameworks, risk models, portfolio optimization techniques, alpha signal construction, and portfolio simulation techniques

      • Experience sourcing, cleaning, managing, and analyzing large data sets.

      • Strong interpersonal and concise communication skills

      • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask

      Expected annual base salary range:

      $100,000 - $120,000

      Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

      Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
