      Location: Swindon Office

      Salary: £40k + shift allowance + bonus

      We are currently looking for someone to join our EU Onshore Control Centre team as a Back Office Control Engineer. You will be working as part of a 24/7/365 12hr shift team based in Swindon, UK which requires a diligent and trustworthy person to aid us in the monitoring and operation of our renewable assets ensuring we maximise availability and production whilst maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

      Responsibilites:

      • Performing the role of Operational Controller under RWE-RES UK Wind Turbine Safety Rules including the facilitation of safe systems of work (safety rules systems) and transfer of assets for work utilising the maintenance management system.

      • Monitoring and operation of RWE-RES Onshore assets using bespoke SCADA systems within plant parameters and complying with statutory /environmental requirements.

      • Manage, monitor, and record all onsite access and egress of RWE-RES and contracting staff using bespoke software packages and Apps

      • Communicating with stakeholders – Including National Grid, DNO’s, commercial traders, HS&E, operations, construction, development, emergency services, performance engineers

      • Conducting operational routine checks and providing maintenance support, performance analysis and general reporting.

      • Set commercial availabilities of the portfolio to ensure accuracy of traded volumes

      • Report on losses of availability to improve maintenance strategies.

      • Act as an incident controller during an onsite emergency

      Requirements:

      • Technical/operations/control room background and aptitude for power plant operation and risk management - a qualification in mechanics, electricity or renewables technologies will be advantageous.

      • Solid planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise key activities

      • Excellent communication skills in all formats whilst being fluent in English, able to assimilate technical information and transpose this to potentially non-technical stakeholders.

      • Aptitude for embracing change within an evolving business unit.

      • Demonstration of the ability to flexibly work and maintain a high level of quality within a high-pressure shift environment.

      • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, able to give and receive structured feedback to ensure development of oneself and the team.

      • Ability to learn from written company process and follow the required actions to achieve the desired targets.

      • Ability to interact with, understand and assimilate multiple SCADA systems to proactively monitor, control and escalate non-resettable turbine faults and site trips across the entire RWE-RES Onshore portfolio.

      • Ability to problem solve whilst lone working by utilising the information available working methodically to overcome any potential issue.
